Looking for a Greece visa appointment from Belfast? Compare the Edinburgh route and confirm the appropriate GVCW centre for your residence address. Greece Visa Alerts can notify you when a matching appointment is found, so you can check the opening and book through the official provider.
If Edinburgh is suitable, Greece Visa Alerts’ Edinburgh appointment finder can notify you when it detects a matching appointment. It offers a way to monitor dates without repeatedly refreshing the calendar.
Check the location before choosing a date
GVCW lists Greece visa application centres in London, Manchester and Edinburgh. Its appointment guidance says applicants should normally use the centre based on their residence address. From Belfast, compare the Edinburgh option and confirm the appropriate centre with GVCW before choosing alerts. Proximity alone does not establish eligibility.
GVCW collects applications on behalf of Greece’s diplomatic and consular authorities; the Greek Embassy’s Consular Office assesses them. Every applicant, including children and infants, must attend in person with an appointment booked online. Factor attendance for the whole group into your centre and date choice.
How appointment alerts fit the process
The Edinburgh search starts after confirmed payment. When it detects a matching appointment on this email-enabled route, it sends an email notification. SMS notifications are available where enabled, supported and possible, but delivery by your mobile carrier is not guaranteed.
A notification does not reserve or hold a date. You must book personally through GVCW’s official appointment portal. Treat an alert as a prompt to check the portal and complete the booking yourself. Notification and booking speed are not guaranteed.
The finder is optional: you can also check GVCW’s portal yourself. Before selecting Edinburgh monitoring, decide which dates you could attend and allow time to arrange travel from Belfast. Consider work and other commitments for each applicant, since a date may not suit your group or remain available when you try to book.
Prepare your tourism application while you wait
GVCW describes a short-stay Schengen type C tourism visa as covering visits of up to 90 days in the Schengen area over 180 days. For a multi-country trip, Greece must be the country where you stay longest. If stays are equal, Greece must be your first country of entry. GVCW cannot advise you on choosing a visa category.
GVCW says tourism applications may be lodged up to six months before travel and no later than 15 calendar days before the intended visit. Use the interval to organise your paperwork. The application form must be completed online through GVCW’s website, printed and submitted in person; postal applications are not accepted.
Check the GVCW tourism guidance and its tourism document checklist rather than relying on a general list. The guidance includes a completed and signed form, passport, copies, photographs, supporting evidence and travel medical insurance.
Your passport must be valid for at least three months after your return to the UK, contain two blank visa pages and have been issued within the previous ten years. Bring original documents and one photocopy of each original. If you hold UK residence permission, GVCW requires a copy of your UK e-visa and a share code for visa purposes. UK applicants also need permanent or temporary residence permission valid for at least one month after their intended return.
When weighing London against Manchester or Edinburgh, allow for the difference in processing time: GVCW says applications submitted in Manchester or Edinburgh need an extra five days for transfer through London. If timing matters to your plans, include that allowance when comparing centres rather than assuming the same processing timetable applies everywhere. This timing information does not establish which centre you may use, so verify your suitability with GVCW before choosing.
Be ready to act on a suitable opening
Each family or group member needs a separate application and supporting document set. Children and infants must attend in person with an appointment. For a minor, both parents should attend unless only one has parental authority or is the legal guardian.
Print your appointment letter and bring it with your documents to the centre. If you have checked that Edinburgh is suitable and are ready to act on a matching date, start your Edinburgh Greece appointment search with Greece Visa Alerts.
