Looking for a Greece visa appointment from Washington? Compare the Edinburgh route and confirm the appropriate GVCW centre for your residence address. Greece Visa Alerts can notify you when a matching appointment is found, so you can check the opening and book through the official provider.
If a Edinburgh appointment suits your circumstances, Greece Visa Alerts’ Edinburgh search can notify you when a matching date is detected. You book through GVCW yourself.
Edinburgh is listed, but check your circumstances
GVCW lists Greece visa application centres in London, Manchester and Edinburgh. Its appointment guidance says applicants should normally use the centre based on their residence address. From Washington, compare the Edinburgh option and confirm the appropriate centre with GVCW before choosing alerts. Proximity alone does not establish eligibility.
For UK applicants, GVCW requires permanent or temporary residence permission valid for at least one month after the intended return to the UK. UK residence permit holders must also provide a copy of their e-visa and a share code for visa purposes.
Confirm the tourism route fits your trip
This guidance is for tourism applications for short-stay Schengen type C visas, covering visits of up to 90 days in a 180-day period. If your trip includes other Schengen countries, Greece must be where you spend the longest time. If stays are equal, Greece must be your first country of entry.
GVCW collects applications; the Greek Embassy’s Consular Office assesses them. GVCW says it cannot advise which visa category to choose, so check that the tourism route fits your purpose. Tourism applications may be lodged up to six months before travel and no later than 15 calendar days before the intended visit. These limits do not guarantee an appointment will be available.
Get your application ready while you search
Start with the current GVCW tourism checklist and tourism guidance. GVCW requires a completed and signed form; its general instructions say to complete the online form and print it. The tourism checklist includes passport requirements, photographs, proof of paid return flights and travel medical insurance.
The insurance must cover the Schengen countries and intended stay, with minimum cover of EUR 30,000. Bring original documents and one photocopy. GVCW also says required documents should be no older than one month, but does not clarify how this broad rule applies to enduring documents such as passports or certificates. Check with the provider if you are unsure about a particular item.
Each family or group member, including children, needs a separate application and supporting documents. Every applicant, including children and infants, must attend in person with an online appointment. GVCW says both parents should attend a minor’s appointment unless only one has parental authority or is the legal guardian.
If the Edinburgh calendar has no suitable date
Check the official GVCW appointment portal, making sure you have selected the intended centre and route. If you have difficulty finding an appointment, GVCW directs applicants to its call centre. The tourism guidance cited here does not give a verified release timetable, so avoid planning around an assumed day or hour.
Greece Visa Alerts is optional search support. After confirmed payment, the search begins; email notifications are sent when a matching appointment is detected. SMS notifications are available where enabled, supported and possible, but carrier delivery is not guaranteed. A notification does not reserve a date. You must book personally through GVCW, and neither notification nor booking speed is guaranteed.
Choose a date you can attend
Before booking, decide which dates you could realistically attend in Edinburgh and keep your paperwork close to ready. Compare a notification with your schedule, check the current checklist and allow time to reach the centre. This helps you judge whether an opening works for both your documents and your attendance plans.
If Edinburgh suits your circumstances, start the Edinburgh Greece appointment search. You can also check GVCW’s portal yourself; use any notification as a prompt to complete the official booking.
