Before a suitable slot appears
A Greece visa appointment calendar is useful only when it belongs to the provider or diplomatic mission responsible for your application. Start by matching your country of application and city to the official guidance. When an opening appears, verify the details on that calendar and complete the booking there.
Greece Visa Alerts is an independent appointment finder. We email you and send you an SMS when a date matches your chosen route and preferences. We do not operate the official calendars, reserve dates, submit visa applications or make visa decisions.
Find the calendar for your application city
Do not begin with the earliest date you can find. Begin with the place where you are entitled to apply. Residence conditions and consular jurisdiction determine whether a centre can accept you.
United Kingdom
Applicants using the UK route can choose London, Manchester or Edinburgh where appropriate. Read the GVCW Greece guidance, then use the GVCW appointment entry point. Check the selected centre, visa purpose and applicant details before confirming.
Ireland and the UAE
For Ireland, begin with the Greek Embassy in Ireland guidance and follow its Dublin calendar. For the UAE, compare the VFS Global Greece booking page with the current Greek mission instructions for the UAE.
United States
The US route is divided between mission calendars. The Greek MFA US appointment page is the starting point. Greece Visa Alerts lists Washington DC, San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Atlanta and Los Angeles, but you must choose the mission serving your residence. The current Los Angeles route uses the Schengen and National Visa calendar.
Understand what the calendar is showing
Calendar wording varies. A displayed date may represent an available start time, an appointment type or a category-specific schedule. Read labels and notes around the booking controls. Confirm that the page is for visa appointments, the correct mission, and the correct visa purpose rather than another consular service.
Some calendars set local rules about one appointment per applicant, duplicate bookings, arrival time or changes. Those rules belong to that calendar. Do not transfer a rule from Washington to New York, or from a US mission to GVCW in the UK.
Recognise the official booking route
Begin from the provider or Greek mission guidance rather than a link copied from a forum, message or advertisement. Check the domain and the name of the office shown on the calendar. Some missions use an external scheduling platform, but the diplomatic mission should identify or link that platform from its own current guidance. If the route or office name does not match, stop and verify it before entering personal information.
An official calendar should not be confused with the Greece Visa Alerts account. Your finder account stores the dates and centres you want monitored; the provider or mission calendar is where you enter the information needed for the official appointment. Keep those roles separate. Never share a one-time security code or payment-card details with somebody claiming that they can privately unlock a government slot.
If a calendar is unavailable, check the official guidance for maintenance notices or a replacement link. Do not assume that a similar-looking calendar for another city is an acceptable substitute.
Check an appointment update step by step
- Match the route. Compare the country, application city, provider and category with your saved search.
- Open the official page. Use the verified link for the provider or mission, not an unrelated result or forwarded payment request.
- Check jurisdiction. Confirm that the centre accepts applications from your residence.
- Check the applicant count. Establish whether each person needs an individual appointment.
- Check the date. Make sure you can attend and prepare a complete application in time.
- Book directly. Enter your information on the official calendar and retain its confirmation.
An update cannot hold the date while you decide. Supply is controlled by the official provider or mission and may change before you finish the booking.
Before pressing confirm
Re-read the applicant name, passport details, contact information, visa category, city, date and time. Check whether the booking is for one person or a group. If you are changing an existing appointment, read the provider’s amendment rules before cancelling anything; you do not need an existing appointment to start a search.
Make sure your document preparation is realistic. The calendar is not proof that your application is complete or eligible. Official instructions may require forms, photographs, insurance, travel and accommodation evidence, financial documents, residence evidence, translations or other category-specific material.
After booking
Save the confirmation and any reference number. Note the centre address, arrival time, permitted companions, payment instructions and documents to bring. Use the same official source for changes. Avoid duplicate bookings unless the calendar explicitly allows them.
An appointment is an opportunity to submit an application, not a visa approval. The relevant Greek diplomatic authority decides the application and may request further information.
Common calendar mistakes
- Choosing a city outside your consular jurisdiction.
- Selecting the wrong visa or consular-service category.
- Assuming one slot covers every family member.
- Cancelling a usable appointment before confirming the replacement.
- Relying on a copied link instead of current official guidance.
- Paying a third party that claims to own or reserve official appointments.
Compare the active application cities in the Greece route directory. For service boundaries, cancellation terms and the independence notice, read the terms.
